Despite the cacophony of India’s cities and villages, the country boasts exceptional biological diversity, ranging from the charismatic Bengal tiger to the endangered Lion-tailed macaque. Degradation and deforestation are threatening our natural biological heritage. The emerging technology of acoustics is opening a new window into capturing the diversity of sounds from insects, amphibians, birds, and mammals.

OUR GOAL
Capture the presence of vocalizing biodiversity in human-dominated and protected landscapes of India, using a creative remote sensing technology.
