New article in Nature inFocus

Project Dhvani's Pooja Choksi and Siddharth Biniwale wrote an article titled 'A Mixtape From the Forests of Central India' that was featured in Nature inFocus. There are several recordings available to listen to, including a monsoon thunderstorm, langur alarm calls, and the call of an iconic central Indian bird species. Read the online article here. 

Project Dhvani receives funding for work in Central India

We are proud to announce that Project Dhvani (PI: Pooja Choksi, Co-PIs: Sarika Khanwilkar and Vijay Ramesh) received an Early Career Grant from the National Geographic Society's Committee for Research and Exploration to carry out field work in central India during 2019 and 2020. As a part of this project, we will be carrying out research and outreach to inform conservation efforts using sounds. More updates to follow!

The Advanced Consortium of Cooperation, Conflict and Complexity at the Earth Institute, Columbia University awarded  Vijay Ramesh, Pooja Choksi and Sarika Khanwilkar a Graduate Student Research Fellowship for 2019 to carry out interdisciplinary research across the fields of environment and development.
